Overview
Route 66 - an American nightmare Three Saxons make their way from the US east to the west coast in an old Cadillac. There is obviously no other reason for this than a holiday planned as a road trip. The ramshackle but original Cadillac at all corners and ends thwarts this right from the start. The constantly necessary seeking outside help with the smaller and larger repairs leads to strange circumstances. After 100 minutes of filming, the three arrive in San Diego. The road movie was shot in May 2002 with two cameras by the three main actors themselves. There was apparently no script, the recordings are often in a video-typical style, as it became known through formats such as "My New Friend". The IT news tickers and offline press subsequently reported on the "world's first 'open source' film" ("Spiegel Online") Germany's first Open Source movie. A gonzo style documentary.
